Waqf Board: GHMC Demolishes Moin Manzil Building Amid CEO Removal Controversy!?

Waqf Board | Hyderabad, August 11: The ongoing turmoil within the Telangana State Waqf Board took a dramatic turn as the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) demolished part of the Moin Manzil building, located on King Koti Road, citing its dilapidated condition.

This action follows the recent High Court order regarding the removal of CEO Mohd Asadullah, escalating tensions within the Waqf Board.

The Moin Manzil, a Waqf property spread over 2000 square yards, was demolished on the second Saturday without prior permission from Waqf officials.

Board representatives have strongly condemned the move, stating that GHMC did not seek the required approval before carrying out the demolition.

Adding complexity to the situation, sources indicate that the Telangana State Waqf Board had issued a No Objection Certificate (NoC) for the building to mutawaliyah. Waqf board claims the same has been challenged, and six petitions to vacate and appeals are currently pending before the High Court, making GHMC’s unilateral demolition all the more controversial.

The demolition of this first building amid the CEO’s removal saga highlights the internal rift and governance challenges within the Waqf Board.

Observers suggest this incident may trigger further disputes and calls for clarity on the administration and protection of Waqf properties in Telangana.

As the conflict unfolds, stakeholders await official statements and resolutions to address the concerns surrounding heritage conservation, legal compliance, and administrative control.
