Woman Shot Dead By Husband In Malkajgiri Over Suspected Affair

Hyderabad, June 10: A woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband in Malkajgiri on Wednesday following a domestic dispute linked to suspicions of an extramarital relationship, police said.

The victim, identified as Usharani, died on the spot after being shot at a residence in Maruthi Nagar.

According to preliminary information, Arun had married Usharani about five years ago after separating from his first wife. The couple had been living in a rented house in Maruthi Nagar, Malkajgiri.

Police said frequent disputes had reportedly taken place between the couple in recent months. Arun allegedly suspected that Usharani was in contact with another person, leading to recurring arguments.

Investigators said Usharani had been staying away from her husband following the disputes. On Wednesday, Arun allegedly called her to the house for a discussion and shot her with a firearm.

After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary examination. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the murder.

Police Probe Source of Firearm

Investigators are also examining how the accused obtained the firearm used in the crime and whether it was legally possessed. Efforts are underway to determine the source of the weapon and identify any other persons connected to the case.
