Hyderabad, April 17: Woxsen University partnered with the Government of Telangana to host the “Arrive Alive” road safety programme aimed at raising awareness among youth.
The initiative, held under the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika framework, brought together over 500 students, police officials, and academic leaders. It focused on promoting responsible road behaviour and reducing accidents.
The event was attended by Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, Additional DGP Law and Order, Telangana, along with Pankaj Paritosh and P Pravinya.
Officials stressed that road safety depends on responsible citizen behaviour. They highlighted the importance of helmet use, seat belts, and avoiding distractions while driving.
Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat said the initiative focuses on prevention and improving response during emergencies. He noted that awareness of life saving techniques can improve survival rates.
Pankaj Paritosh said road safety is a shared responsibility. He added that most accidents are preventable and often caused by negligence, speeding, and lack of safety measures.
The programme included a road safety pledge and student presentations on road usage. Cultural performances were also held to spread awareness.
Abhijit Shirodkar said the initiative reinforces responsibility among youth. He added that such programmes help build safer communities.
The collaboration highlights efforts to strengthen public awareness and encourage behavioural change among young citizens.
