Hyderabad, July 13: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar urged the country’s youth to draw inspiration from Group Captain and astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, praising him for creating history by becoming the first Indian to travel to space after a gap of 41 years.
Sajjanar was speaking at a programme organised by the Kalams Institute of Youth Excellence at Rabindra Bharati in Hyderabad, where he launched Shukla’s book, “The Second Orbit.” Students and teachers from various schools attended the event in large numbers.
Addressing the gathering, Sajjanar said Shubhanshu Shukla had opened a new chapter in India’s space journey by serving as the pilot of the Axiom-4 mission.
He noted that The Second Orbit captures the astronaut’s experiences, challenges and learnings from his space mission, and expressed confidence that Shukla would continue to bring laurels to the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Shubhanshu Shukla said he wrote the book to share his journey and experiences in space with the people of India, especially young students.
He said he was delighted to launch the book in Hyderabad and encouraged students to cultivate discipline, perseverance and dedication from an early age to achieve their goals.
During the interactive session, Shukla answered several questions from students and shared insights into life as an astronaut and the challenges of space travel.
