Youth Totally Against Agneepath Scheme: TPCC Chief

Hyderabad, June 18 (Maxim News): TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy today said the Congress was totally opposing the Centre’s controversial Agneepath scheme.

Speaking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills along with AICC secretary SA Sampath Kumar, Revanth Reddy said the youth was against their contract recruitment as part of the scheme and added that Friday’s attack on Secunderabad railway station was part of the anger of the youth.

Stating that their party was pained at the violent incidents across the country, he said farmers and soldiers were the strength of the nation.

He said the Congress had given a great message to the country by encouraging the farmers and soldiers and added that the BJP government at the Centre was targeting present “Jai Jawan” and “Jai Kisan” slogans of their party.

He alleged that the Union government was tabling laws in parliament after implementing them instead of tabling the laws in parliament before implementing them. He said the scheme would render the youth jobless after serving the army for four years. He demanded that the Centre immediately withdraw the controversial scheme.

Slamming the comments of Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, he came down heavily on the former for levelling baseless allegations against the Congress. He asked Kishan Reddy as to how TRS and MIM parties would carry out the attack on the railway station on a call given by the Congress party? He wondered whether the Union minister has sense to make such statements?

Referring to the attacks in Varanasi seat, Revanth Reddy asked Kishan Reddy whether the Congress was also behind the same. He said he would visit the family members of the victim of the Friday’s police shooting Rakesh as per the directions of AICC. Protesters tried to attack the Warangal railway station during the funeral of Damira Rakesh, who was killed in police firing on Friday at the Secunderabad railway station. State Congress chief A Revanth Reddy, who was travelling to Warangal to participate in the funeral procession, was arrested by the police near Ghatkesar.

The police men and protesters clashed at several places. The funeral procession was diverted by the protesters towards the Warangal railway station, but police prevented them from doing so, following which the protesters turned violent, he added. (Maxim News)
