1300km cycling expedition flagged in at AOC Centre

Secunderabad, Sept. 30 (Maxim News): The commemorative cycling expedition of Army ordnance Corps (AOC) centre was flagged in by Major General RK Singh, General officer commanding (GOC), Telangana and Andhra sub area (TASA) in a ceremonial function at AOC Centre, Secunderabad. The team consisting of 15 members including one officer and two JCOs successfully completed the 1300 km of the arduous journey over 10 days. The tough inclines and inclement weather during the course of the journey did not deter the cyclist from their mission. The team had started its journey on 20 September 2021 from Gajraj stadium, AOC Centre wherein they were flagged off by Lieutenant General A Arun, GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area. The team during its course of journey covered historical forts of Golconda, Khilla Ghanpur, Gadwal, Adoni, Konda Reddy, Kondapalli, Khammam, Warangal and Bhongir.

The expedition was undertaken to commemorate the emphatic win of the Indian Army in Indo Pak War of 1971. “Swarnim Vijaya Varsh”, the Golden Jubilee of 1971 Indo Pakistan war is being celebrated by the nation to commemorate India’s decisive and historical victory over Pakistan which led to the creation of Bangladesh.

The team enroots interacted and met locals, ex- servicemen and school children. They spread the message of national integration and educated everyone about the importance of “Swarnim Vijay varsh”. The team was given a rousing welcome at all the cities/ towns they passed through and were also felicitated by the civil administration. (Maxim News)
