30 Students Fall Ill After Eating Contaminated Food In Asifabad

Komaram Bheem Asifabad/Hyderabad, Nov 1 (Maxim News): Thirty students fell ill, allegedly after consuming contaminated food at a government hostel attached school run by the Tribal Welfare Department, in Wankidi mandal center on Thursday night.

The students complained of stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea after they had dinner at 10 pm. They were immediately shifted to a primary health center in Wankidi mandal headquarters. Except for three, 27 students were discharged. The three students were undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital in Asifabad.

The students alleged that food was being cooked in unhygienic conditions, while drinking water was not protected with the water tank getting cleaned monthly once. They stated that similar incidents of food poisoning occurred in the past, but were not reported. (Maxim News)
