37th Senior Officers’ Study Period Conducted at College of Air Warfare

The College of Air Warfare (CAW) Secunderabad, conducted the 37th Senior Officers’ Study Period (SOSP) from 22 Aug 2022 to 02 Sep 2022. The SOSP was attended by 25 officers of the rank of Air Commodore and equivalent from the three services. The strategic level interactive programme was aimed at increasing awareness on global and regional security issues while enhancing integration among the three services.

In consonance with the objectives of the programme, many speakers of national and international repute including retired senior officers of the three services like Air Marshal SS Soman, Lieutenant General SA Hasnain, Lieutenant General VG Khandare, Air Marshal TD Joseph, Air Marshal D Choudhury, and experts from various fields like Ambassador PS Raghvan, Mr R Chandrashekhar, Mr Kajari Kamal, Mr Nitin Pai, Mr Anil Anand, Dr Manpreet Sethi, Dr Srihari addressed the participants.

The speakers covered diverse topics including Future Employment of Air Power, Aerospace Power as critical tool for State Craft, Agniveer concept (Planning, Execution and its effective implementation), Global strategy on Perception Management, Non Kinetic Warfare, Jointness in Defence Forces, Civil-Military relations, Psychology of International Relations, Strategic Communication, India’s Ballistic Missile Development Programme, Nuclear Strategy of India, and Emerging Geopolitical challenges etc.

Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, Senior Air Staff Officer, Training Command delivered the closing address at the valedictory function conducted on 02 Sep 2022. The programme served as a useful forum for all participants for scholarly interaction and gaining a fresh insight into contemporary issues of geo-political and military significance.
