Fate Hanging As No Confidence Notices Against 35 Municipalities Chairperson Pending

Hyderabad, Mar 3 (Maxim News): Keeping in view that the State government headed by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao are facing problem in about 35 Municipal Corporations and Municipalities Chairpersons has revolted against its own BRS party, as part of it, the “No Confidence Notices” has been issued in 23 Municipalities and in another 12 Municipalities are preparing for infidelity.

As it is an election year, the ruling BRS party is worried as the Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundara Rajan has not given approval to the new Municipality Amendment  Bill in which there is the provision that no Urban Body should move the no-confidence notice till 4 years is completed, in the present Bill there is a provision of moving no-confidence notice after completing 3 years in the office.  It may be recalled that BRS public representatives teamed up with corporators and councilors of other parties to oust their own party.

The Assembly and Council passed resolutions increasing the no-confidence period of Municipal Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to four years.  The Governor has not given approval to this bill for six months.  As a result, the position of mayors and chairmen is hanging in the balance before it becomes a law.  :

Alleging that Governor Tamilisai Soundara Rajan did not approve this bill, the state government approached the Supreme Court.  It appealed to the Governor to order the approval of all pending bills.  The state government was reprimanded after going to the High Court to order the Governor to pass the budget and eventually had to apologize,  Now it is clear that the lack of confidence in the municipalities is not the reason behind going to the Supreme court for the pending bills.  (Maxim News)
