World Kidney Day is Celebrated at CARE Hospitals, Nampally
World Kidney Day | Hyderabad, March 10 (Maxim News): In order to raise awareness on the importance of World Kidney Day, CARE Hospitals, Nampally organized Awareness Talk at hospital premises.
The program was inaugurated by Smt. Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy, Deputy Mayor of Hyderabad in the presence of Mr. Syed Kamran Husain, HCOO-CARE Hospitals, Nampally, Dr.Shaista Hussaini Consultant Nephrologist, Dr.Abdul Fatah Nephrologist, Dr.Navin Chand Medical Superintendent, Dr.Vijay Mohan Internal Medicine & and other doctors of the hospital.
About half of the people who have diabetes do not know they have diabetes. Therefore, you need to check your blood sugar level as part of your general body checkup. This is especially important for those who are approaching middle age or older.

Every year Second Thursday in March is celebrated as World Kidney Day. It is aimed at raising awareness regarding the importance and role of kidneys in our overall health and encouraging people to be more open to monitoring and early detection of any problems.

Better monitoring reduces the incidence of serious kidney problems as well as reduces the impact of kidney disease on several consequent health problems, said Dr. Shaista Hussaini, Sr.Consultant- Nephrologist, CARE Hospitals, Nampally
Mr. Syed Kamran Husain, HCOO, CARE Hospitals, Nampally said The awareness program was held in the background of kidney disease being the third biggest killer, after cancer and cardiac disease.
Diabetes and hypertension are the underlying causes of six out of 10 chronic kidney diseases. Dialysis and transplantation of the kidney can be prevented if kidney diseases are detected early.
The patients can also create awareness about the risk factors among their friends, family members, relatives, and people they know.
The main objective of such awareness talks is to raise awareness among people that a simple 45-minute walk is enough to promote a healthy lifestyle.
A stressful life can prove fatal so one must engage in healthy practices like avoiding smoking; avoiding too much red meat and having regular simple walks added as said by Dr. Abdul Fatah Consultant Urologist.
