Jubilee Hills Gang Rape Case: HC Struck Down POCSO Court Verdict

Gang Rape | Hyderabad, April 25 (Maxim News): A crucial development has taken place in the case of gang rape in Jubilee Hills of the city of Hyderabad. The High Court has struck down the verdict given by the POCSO court earlier that the minor boy who is the sixth accused should be treated as a major. The High Court ordered the police to investigate the case as a minor.

About 10 months ago, a gang rape took place at Amnesia Pub in Jubilee Hills. Police have arrested six people in this case. Among them, the minors are accused along with the main accused Salauddin. The police filed a petition in the court, seeking to treat four of the five minors as majors. In serious cases, minors were asked to be treated as majors.

The POCSO court gave its verdict treating four of the five minors as majors. The minor, who is the sixth accused, went to the High Court challenging the verdict given by the POCSO court. The High Court, which took up the investigation, struck down the verdict of the POCSO court. So, now four majors and two minors are accused in this case. (Maxim News)
