Junior Panchayat Secretaries Called Off Strike
Hyderabad, May 14 (Maxim News): Telangana Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPS) called their 16 days strike from April 28 with several demands including regularisation. As the state government ordered to join just before 12 noon many people joined duty in many districts, the union’s state president Srikant Goud and other representatives announced they are calling off the strike along with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Erreblli Dayakar Rao at Thorrur in Mahabubabad district on Saturday night. He will join duty on Monday.
After Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari ordered that the Gram Panchayat Secretaries who did not join the duties till Sunday afternoon should be removed immediately and new ones should be appointed temporarily in their place, many Junior Panchayat Secretaries in the districts stopped their strike and attended the duties.
In the end, the leaders of all the districts were inclined to call off the strike. To this extent, the representatives of the state union met Minister Errabelli at night and announced their decision to call off the strike. They said that they will perform their duties as they are and asked them to do their due justice. He welcomed it. He promised to join the duties and work for the development of Gram Panchayats and bring their problems to the notice of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and work hard to solve them.
Later, the president of the association Srikant Goud and the representatives said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has established the Junior Panchayat Raj Secretaries system. 73 awards have come to the Panchayat Raj department with our services. As per the assurance given by Chief Minister and the panchayat Raj Minister, the strike is called off without any pressure. I have full faith in them. We are confident that our jobs will be regularised. (Maxim News)
