Dengue Fever Makes a Comeback in Hyderabad: Action Initiated

Hyderabad, Dec 8: (Maxim News): A concerning rise in dengue fever cases is causing worry in Greater Hyderabad, especially in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts. Health officials blame the increasing number of mosquitoes in the area for this worrying trend.

Official records show a significant increase in dengue cases, with over 3000 reported instances in Greater Hyderabad alone over the past year. preventive measures, including improved treatment facilities in local hospitals and major institutions like Gandhi, Osmania, and Nallakunta Fever Hospital have been done. .

To address the situation, Hyderabad District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. Venkathy, and Rangareddy District Medical Officer, Dr. Venkateshwarlu, have revealed that comprehensive medical checkups for mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, malaria, and typhoid are being offered at local dispensaries and primary health centers.

Patients can receive necessary medical care at these facilities. However, if their condition is serious and requires hospitalization, they will be referred to renowned hospitals like Gandhi, Osmania, or Nallakunta Fever Hospital.

The surge in dengue cases emphasizes the importance of community involvement in prevention efforts. Residents are urged to take proactive steps to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, such as stagnant water, and to protect themselves from mosquito bites, especially during peak activity times.

Local health authorities are closely monitoring the situation, but community participation is essential to effectively combat the spread of dengue. By staying informed, practicing preventive measures, and seeking timely medical attention, residents can contribute significantly to controlling this alarming resurgence of dengue in the region.
