MLA Quits Congress on Decision Not To Participate In Prana Pratishtha

Gujarat/Hyderabad, Jan 20 (Maxim News): Opposition is being expressed from the party leaders over the decision of the Congress not to attend the Ram Mandir function in Ayodhya

Recently a Congress MLA from Gujarat has resigned from his party membership.  CJ Chavda is representing as MLA from Bijapur constituency.  From the very beginning, he opposed the Congress decision not to go to Ram’s Pana Pratishtha program on January 22. 

The decision was taken to resign from the party on Saturday.  later speaking to the media,  “I have worked in the Congress for 25 years.  While the entire country is rejoicing with the Prana Pratishtha program of the Ram temple, the Congress party has decided not to go to the ceremony.  That decision has hurt me.  That is why I am resigning.  The construction of Ram Mandir took place under the leadership of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. We all should support this.  But being in the congress, we could not support it.  that is why I am resigning, he said.   

The resignation was submitted to Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary.  In Gujarat, there are 182 Assembly seats, congress tally has dropped to 15.  Chavda is expected to join the BJP.  Earlier Congress MLA Chirag Patel from Khambhat in Anand district also resigned from the post of MLA.  (Maxim News)
