Telangana Was First To Conduct Caste Census In India: Mahesh Kumar Goud

Hyderabad, May 2 (Maxim News): PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud commented that Telangana was the first state in the country to conduct a caste census after independence. He said that under the leadership of CM Revanth Reddy, 42 percent reservation for BCs has been given legal force in accordance with the kamareddy Declaration.

He said that the Telangana government increased the reservation for BCs in political and educational jobs by 42 percent and sent the bill passed by both houses of parliament on April 8, after receiving the approval of the Governor and sending it to the President. In this context, he said that he met Governor Jishnu Dev Verma along with Telangana BC ministers and leaders and thanked him.

He praised Rahul Gandhi for the credit for the caste census. He described the decision to conduct the caste census along with the census at the center as a victory of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress government. He said that the BJP at the center is following the Telangana model.

He said that Rahul’s ambition has been fulfilled with the center’s decision on the caste census. He said that CM Revanth Reddy and the team of ministers conducted the caste census in a scientific manner as per Rahul Gandhi’s ambition. (Maxim News)
