KTR Rallies Support for BRS in Local Body Polls, Says Victory Key to Correcting Congress Misrule
Hyderabad/Warangal, July 27 (Maxim News) – BRS Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) has called for a decisive mandate in the upcoming local body elections, declaring that a strong BRS victory would force the Congress government to correct its current course of governance. He emphasized that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) remains the only leader who has truly prioritized the Backward Classes (BCs) and promised continued political representation for them under the BRS banner.
KTR made these remarks on Sunday in Parakala, Warangal district, during the “Gift a Smile” initiative, where he distributed sewing machines and KCR Kits to women.
BRS for Backward Classes and Inclusive Growth
“Only KCR has done justice to the Backward Classes in the past, and only BRS can guarantee their rightful share in the future,” KTR asserted. He urged voters to support BRS candidates in local body polls, stating, “This Congress government can only be reined in with a bumper mandate for BRS.”
Congress Accused of Corruption, Hindering Investments
KTR also came down heavily on the Congress-led state government, accusing its leaders of intimidating investors at the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal. He alleged that Congress Ministers and MLAs were coercing investors like KITEX Garments, which had committed to creating 25,000 jobs, into nepotistic employment practices.
“Congress hooliganism is driving away industries from Telangana,” KTR warned, highlighting that canal construction costs in the textile park had spiked from Rs. 137 crore to Rs. 297 crore due to alleged kickbacks and corruption.
Welfare Promises Unfulfilled, Farmers Neglected
KTR also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for failing to fulfill welfare promises made to women and self-help groups. “The Congress government promised to make one crore women crorepatis, but has only released Rs. 300 crore out of the Rs. 3,000 crore promised to SHGs,” he said. He further claimed that Rs. 50,000 is owed to every woman under the Rs. 2,500 monthly scheme, which remains largely unfulfilled.
Highlighting the plight of farmers, KTR accused the Congress of failing to provide adequate urea, fertilisers, and seeds, stating that such mismanagement reflects a lack of commitment to agriculture. “A Chief Minister who cannot provide basic farming inputs has no right to remain in office,” he declared.
Fight for Telangana’s Self-Respect to Continue
He vowed to raise all these issues in the upcoming Assembly session, particularly the alleged harassment of 3,000 Grihalakshmi beneficiaries in Parakala, whose funds have been blocked despite court orders.
KTR concluded by affirming that BRS would continue its fight for Telangana’s self-respect and development, and that the local body elections would serve as a referendum against Congress misrule.
