Heavy Rains Flood Huzurabad, Low-Lying Areas Submerged, Houses Damaged
Karimnagar/Hyderabad, Sept 12 (Maxim News) Low lying areas in Huzurabad inundated in flood water due to heavy rainfall recorded in the town on Thursday night. People faced severe hardships as flood water entered into houses.
Normal life was disrupted as 16 cm rainfall was recorded within a span of three hours. Mamindlawada, Vidhyanagar, Budaga Jangala colony, Kindawada, Kummariwada, Fakirwada, Sikkuwada were inundated in flood water.
Flood water also entered into a cloth bags manufacturing unit in Mamindlawada. Alerted municipal officials shifted the resident of Gandhinagar to a function hall in the night.
Municipal Commissioner Sammaiah monitored the situation by touring in rain affected areas on a two wheeler in the night.
Besides draining out water from houses by arranging motors, drainages were cleared with the help of proclaims ensuing the rainwater flow easily without any hurdle.
RDO Ramesh Babu, municipal commissioner Sammaiah and Tahsildar Kanakaiah visited affected areas and comforted the affected families. Reviewing the situation, they were informed to send proposals to higher officials to provide compensation to affected people from the government.
Municipal sanitation workers are engaged in clearing garbage and mud accumulated in localities.
On the other hand, the road connectivity between Huzurabad and Vaddera Colony disrupted as Chilukavagu is overflowing.(Maxim News)
