Gang Involved In Illegal Trafficking Of Pangolin Scales Busted
Hanumakonda/Hyderabad, Oct 5 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Unit Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials conducted searches in Hanamkonda today (Sunday).
Four accused who were illegally transporting pangolin scales were arrested. The police seized a total of 6.53 kg of pangolin scales from the accused.
The accused are hunting the lizards and separating the scales on their skin. The accused azre exporting them to Southeast Asian countries due to the huge demand for them. These lizard scales are used in the manufacture of medicines.
The police have warned that hunting the lizards is a crime under the Wildlife Act. DRI officials have arrested four accused and handed them over to the Hanamkonda forest officials. (Maxim News)
