Visakhapatnam, June 5: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu narrowly escaped injury after briefly losing control of his bicycle during a World Environment Day programme in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
The incident occurred while the Chief Minister was participating in a cycling event organized as part of the Net Zero initiative.
Earlier in the day, Chandrababu Naidu attended a World Environment Day programme at the Andhra University grounds, where he planted saplings and participated in environmental awareness activities.
Later, he began a bicycle ride from Andhra University to the Novotel Hotel in Visakhapatnam as part of the event.
During the ride, the Chief Minister reportedly lost balance and nearly fell from the bicycle. Security personnel accompanying him reacted swiftly and prevented the incident from turning into a serious accident.
Officials said no injuries were reported, and the Chief Minister continued with his scheduled programme.
The brief incident caused concern among officials and security staff before the situation was brought under control.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said he chose to ride a bicycle as part of World Environment Day activities to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
Authorities later confirmed that the Chief Minister was safe and that the event concluded without any major disruption.
