SHE Teams Hyderabad Convict 5 In Eve Teasing Cases

Hyderabad, June 5 (Maxim News) : SHE Teams of Hyderabad City have secured convictions in five separate eve-teasing cases at Charminar, reinforcing their continued crackdown on harassment in public places under the supervision of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar.

According to officials, SHE Teams conducted targeted surveillance at Charminar and identified multiple incidents of misbehavior towards women, including inappropriate physical contact in public spaces. The offenders were immediately apprehended during the operation.

Police registered cases against all five accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the City Police Act. The swift action led to successful prosecution in all five cases.

The accused include individuals from different states as well as Hyderabad, reflecting the diverse background of those involved in the incidents. After completion of legal proceedings, all five respondents were produced before the VII Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally.

The court found all five guilty and sentenced each of them to three days of simple imprisonment along with a fine of ₹1,000. The verdict was delivered on June 4, 2026.

Police officials stated that this outcome highlights the effectiveness of SHE Teams in ensuring swift justice in cases of harassment against women in public spaces. They reiterated that strict surveillance will continue in sensitive and crowded locations across the city, including tourist and heritage zones like Charminar.

SHE Teams also issued a strong warning that harassment, stalking, cyber abuse, and misuse of social media platforms will attract strict legal action without exception.

Women facing any form of harassment have been urged to immediately report incidents through Dial 100 or 112 or contact SHE Teams via WhatsApp at 9490616555. Officials assured confidentiality, quick response, and legal support for all complainants.

Police further advised citizens to stay alert against fake online profiles, avoid sharing personal information, and use strong digital security practices to prevent cyber exploitation.
