Arrest Raja Singh! Warns Of Statewide Protests If No Action
Hyderabad, Oct 16 (Maxim News): Syed Auliya Husaini Murtaza Pasha, the founder of Sunni United Forum of India and Central Milad Juloos, and a known Ahl-e-Sunnat scholar, issued a sharp statement criticising the Telangana Congress government for not taking action against Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh, whom he called “Gustakh-e-Rasool“.
He described the government’s silence as “criminal” and said it failed to act despite continued public demands and protests. He framed the matter as a test of governance and justice.
He said that when Raja Singh had previously made offensive remarks against Prophet Muhammad, then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao sent him to jail immediately after public protests.
However, he argued that the present Congress government has shown “incompetence,” as “no decisive action” has been taken against the accused even after sustained public pressure. He contrasted the swift earlier action with what he called today’s silence.
Syed Murtaza Pasha pointed out that the state Home Department, under which the police function, comes directly under the Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio. He said that in spite of this, the failure to act is not only regrettable but also shameful.
He stressed that responsibility rests at the top, and therefore accountability must follow. He added that Muslims in the state feel that only KCR acted on time and delivered justice. He said this is why many Muslims wish to see KCR as the Chief Minister again in the coming days. He tied these sentiments to a desire for timely enforcement and protection of religious respect.
He warned the Revanth Reddy–led Congress government that if Raja Singh is not arrested, a statewide campaign will be launched. He said the issue has hurt community sentiments and demands a prompt legal response.
He concluded by saying all eyes are now on whether the Congress government takes action on this serious issue or remains a silent spectator. (Maxim News)
