The goldsmith was identified as Lashkari Naresh Chary. He had reportedly been facing severe financial problems as business slowed down following the expansion of corporate jewellery stores. The situation worsened in recent months with a sharp increase in gold and silver prices, which led to a decline in sales.

Chary is survived by his wife and two children. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway. (Maxim News)
