Well Done HYDRA: Public Support Rising in Hyderabad

  • Citizens hold rallies in Ameerpet and Patni praising HYDRA
  • HYDRA credited for flood relief, drainage repairs, and nala widening

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (Maxim News): The tide of public opinion in Hyderabad has shifted strongly in favor of HYDRA. Once criticized with chants of “HYDRA down down,” the organization is now being hailed with calls of “Well done.” Citizens are expressing their appreciation as HYDRA continues to protect key government properties, ponds, and parks. After appreciation events in Manikonda on November 5, rallies were held across Hyderabad on November 6 in support of the agency’s work.

Residents from several localities organized rallies thanking HYDRA for preventing floods during recent heavy rains. People in Ameerpet and Patni joined hands to display placards and banners showing their gratitude. A human chain demonstration near Maitrivanam attracted wide attention, as locals credited HYDRA for ensuring that water did not stagnate even after 15 centimeters of rainfall. In the past, colonies were flooded after just 5 centimeters of rain, but recent efforts by HYDRA prevented such challenges.

Communities in Ameerpet, Srinivas Nagar, Gayatrinagar, Krishna Nagar, and Ambedkar Nagar voiced appreciation for the improvements in drainage facilities. Residents pointed out that underground pipelines were cleared of silt under HYDRA’s supervision, which helped solve long-standing waterlogging problems. They also mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy personally inspected the flood-hit areas, understood the issues, and handed over full responsibility to HYDRA. Under the guidance of HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath, many civic issues were resolved effectively.

People thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for introducing the HYDRA mechanism that responded rapidly to flooding concerns. They noted that HYDRA widened the Patni Nala from 15 feet to 70 feet, eliminating the flood threat to nearly eight colonies. Locals described it as a breakthrough solution to a 30-year-old civic issue.

Residents are now relieved that heavy rains no longer lead to submerged vehicles and flooded streets. The success of HYDRA’s flood management work has transformed public perception, turning criticism into widespread support. Hyderabad’s citizens are calling the initiative a permanent solution to decades of urban flooding problems.
