Jubilee Hills Voters Must Carry Photo ID on November 11
Hyderabad, Nov. 6 (Maxim News): The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, C. Sudarshan Reddy, has urged all voters of the Jubilee Hills constituency to carry valid photo identification while casting their votes in the byelection scheduled for November 11.
According to the Election Commission of India’s directions, every voter must produce their voter photo ID card (EPIC) before voting at the polling station.
Twelve Alternative Photo ID Options for Voters
For those who do not possess an EPIC, the Chief Electoral Officer stated that any one of the following twelve photo identification documents will be accepted:
Aadhaar Card
NREGA Job Card
Bank or Post Office Passbook with photograph
Health Insurance Smart Card (including Ayushman Bharat Card)
Driving Licence
PAN Card
Smart Card issued under the National Population Register (NPR)
Indian Passport
Pension Document with photograph
Employee ID Card issued by Government, PSU, or Public Limited Company
Official ID Card of MPs, MLAs, or MLCs
Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued by the Department of Social Justice
He clarified that overseas electors registered under Section 20A of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, must present their original Indian passport for identification.
Voter information slips will be distributed at least five days before polling but cannot be used as identity proof.
Sudarshan Reddy advised all voters in the Jubilee Hills constituency to verify their names on the electoral roll and visit their designated polling stations with a valid photo ID to exercise their right to vote responsibly on November 11. (Maxim News)
