The flight, initially scheduled to depart at 11:55 pm on Friday, did not take off until after 9 am Saturday, leaving travellers stranded and prompting several to protest and demand more proactive handling by airline management.
Airport sources confirmed that the technical issue was identified well before departure, and the airline responded by arranging overnight accommodation for the affected passengers. The revised departure for flight VN-984 was set at 10 am Saturday.
