Jubilee Hills bye election | Hyderabad, Nov. 9: Officials said preparations for the 61–Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency bye-election are complete, with arrangements aimed at ensuring a smooth and peaceful poll.
The total electorate is 401,365, comprising 208,561 male voters, 192,779 female voters, and 25 others, alongside 123 Overseas Electors (NRI), 1,908 PwD voters, 6,859 electors aged 18–19, and 2,134 voters aged 85 and above.
There are 407 polling station building locations, with an average of 986 voters per station, a maximum of 1,233 at PS No. 09, and a minimum of 540 at PS No. 263, including 11 stations with more than 1,200 voters.
At a joint press conference, District Election Officer R. V. Karnan detailed the polling arrangements, while Joint Commissioner of Hyderabad City Police Tafseer Iqbal outlined the security plan and assured that robust measures are in place for a free, fair, and peaceful vote.
The full complement of polling personnel has been mobilized: 2,060 officials in total, including 515 Presiding Officers, 515 Assistant Presiding Officers, and 1,030 Other Polling Officials.
Given the large number of candidates in the fray (58), each polling station will use one Control Unit, four Ballot Units, and one VVPAT. In all, 561 Control Units, 2,394 Ballot Units, and 595 VVPATs are available to support the deployment plan.
Jubilee Hills bye election
The Jwala Vijay Bhasker Reddy Stadium at Yousufguda has been designated as the Distribution, Reception, and Counting Centre.
Absentee voters — those aged above 85 years and PwD voters — were provided postal ballot access; 103 voters opted for the facility and 101 have already cast their ballots. Live streaming will be conducted at all polling stations to bolster transparency and oversight during voting.
Authorities reported strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, noting 27 MCC violation cases and seizures totaling ₹3,60,50,952.30 between October 6 and October 8, 2025.
A District Intelligence Committee comprising multiple departments is coordinating to maintain law and order, while city police are deploying striking forces and mobile squads to ensure security across the constituency.
The government has declared paid holidays on the poll day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and the counting day, Friday, November 14, 2025, for offices and institutions hosting polling stations and counting centres.
The paid holiday order has been issued under G.O.Rt.No.1447 of the General Administration (Elections-A) Department dated October 17, 2025, to facilitate maximum participation and smooth conduct of the bye-election.
