The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has formally lodged complaints with the Election Commission of India (ECI), State Chief Electoral Officer, and Returning Officers regarding alleged large-scale cash distribution by Congress leaders and workers. According to the complaint, this occurred near Booth No. 203 in the Vengalrao Nagar Division during polling for the Jubilee Hills by-election on Tuesday.

BRS leaders and legal cell representatives accused Congress activists of openly handing out money to voters, aiming to influence votes in favor of the party’s candidate, V Naveen Yadav. They stated that such activity violates both the Model Code of Conduct and the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

The BRS complaint also criticized the local police for negligence, alleging that officers witnessed the illegal activity but failed to act. The party demanded the immediate deployment of senior police officers or Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel in the area. Additionally, BRS called for the suspension or transfer of those police officials who did not intervene.

Describing the incident as a corrupt practice that undermines the democratic process, the BRS urged the Election Commission to seize the distributed money, register a case, and initiate a prompt inquiry. These measures, they argued, are essential to ensure free and fair polling in the Jubilee Hills constituency.

The complaint reflects heightened tensions during the tightly contested by-election, emphasizing the need for vigilant enforcement of election laws to maintain electoral integrity.
