Illegal Arms Smuggling Gang Busted By Delhi Police

Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 22 (Maxim News): Delhi Police busted an international illegal arms smuggling gang linked to Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence. The police said the syndicate had used drones to send weapons from Pakistan into India. They added that the weapons had been made in China and Turkey and then transported across the border before reaching secret locations in Punjab.

The police received intelligence on November 19 that illegal arms suppliers had arrived in the Rohini area of Delhi. Officers then conducted a raid and arrested Mandeep from Phillaur in Punjab and Dalwinder from Ludhiana. Based on the information they provided, the police arrested two more people. They were identified as Rohan Tomar and Ajay alias Monu from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, Mandeep is associated with the Sonu Khatri gang and faces several criminal cases including murder.

A police officer said they recovered ten sophisticated pistols and ninety two live cartridges from the accused. He added that five pistols had been made in Turkey and three in China. He explained that foreign weapons were being transported from Pakistan to Punjab by drones. The police noted that the weapons were wrapped in carbon paper to avoid detection by scanners.

The police officer also said that Pakistani agents were directing members of this gang to collect weapons from drop locations and deliver them to Delhi. He said the gang supplied illegal weapons to criminals in Delhi and nearby states. He mentioned names of gangs that he said received weapons including Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha and Gogi Himanshu Bhai. The officer stated that they are working to identify how many weapons the gang had sold, to whom, and which gangs or individuals were part of this racket.
