- AICC appoints new DCC presidents and gives key posts to MLAs
- Several MLAs take over DCC reins as Telangana list announced
The AICC high command has completed a major round of appointments for District Congress Committees in Telangana. Officials said thirty six people have been appointed as DCC presidents. Several MLAs have received key posts as part of the new organisational structure. However, the AICC did not announce DCC presidents for Sangareddy and Ranga Reddy districts.
Meanwhile, the AICC named Aleru MLA Ilayya as the president of Yadadri DCC. It appointed MLA Vamsi as the president of Nagarkurnool DCC. Similarly, MLA Bojju was named the president of Nirmal DCC. The party also selected MLA Raj Thakur as the president of Peddapalli DCC. These appointments indicate the party’s effort to place elected leaders in organisational roles across the state.
The list also includes several other names. The AICC appointed Naresh Jadhav to lead the Adilabad DCC. In Asifabad, Atram Suguna has taken charge. In Badradri Kothagudem, the post has gone to Tota Devi Prasanna. Bhuvanagiri has Birla Aayilaiah, who serves as Government Whip. Gadwal has M Rajeev Reddy as DCC president. In Hanamkonda, Inagala Venkat Ramireddy, who is a Corporation Chairman, has been selected.
In addition, the party appointed G Nannayya for Jagityala, Lakavath Dhanvanth for Janagama and Battu Karunakar for Jayashankar Bhupalpalli. The Karimnagar DCC will be headed by MLA Medipally Satyam, while Mallikarjun Ale will lead the Kamareddy DCC. For the Karimnagar Corporation unit, the AICC named Anjan Kumar. In Khairatabad, Motha Rohit has been given the responsibility, and in Khammam, N Satyanarayana has been appointed.
The appointments reflect the AICC’s plan to strengthen the Congress at the district level. They also show the party’s aim to increase coordination between elected leaders and organisational posts. The absence of announcements for Sangareddy and Ranga Reddy districts, however, has drawn attention. The party has not yet issued any reason for the delay. The rest of the appointments appear to signal renewed activity within the party ranks.
