Seven-Year-Old Girl Death In Mancherial; Police Await Medical Opinion
Mancherial/Hyderabad, Nov 29 (Maxim News) Police are awaiting medical opinion to unravel the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a seven-year-old girl, who went missing and was later found dead in a well at Nambala village in Dandepally mandal.
Investigators said they were probing the death of Shanigarapu Mahanvita from multiple angles, including possible enmity between her parents and neighbours, ransom, and murder after sexual assault. They said they were expecting clarity on the cause of death once doctors who conducted the post-mortem submit their opinion.
Police said the investigation had reached its final stage. Two men from the village, both known to consume alcohol and reportedly neighbours of the child, were already being questioned. Officials said the suspects would be produced before the media on Sunday.
Mahanvita was allegedly abducted by unknown persons while she was playing outside her home on November 24. Police formed special teams and launched a search operation, combing the village with the help of a sniffer dog. She was found dead in a well near her house on November 27.
Meanwhile, the girl’s parents and relatives expressed displeasure over what they alleged was a slow investigation and delay in arresting the culprits. Demanding justice and stern action against those responsible, they staged a sit-in outside the Dandepalli police station on Friday.(Maxim News)
