An Intelligence Bureau official said the ISI wants to push a multi front escalation. The official said, “The idea is to keep the Indian agencies busy both on the ground as well on the digital space.” He also said the security system must stay ready for attacks planned across different regions. Meanwhile, officials note that the ISI has insisted that groups like Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Mohammed work as one unit after Operation Sindoor. They will use their old names. However, they will coordinate their actions under one command.

Officials say the ISI wants most attacks to focus on Jammu and Kashmir. However, they also say the ISI has told these groups to activate modules across India. Therefore, pan India strikes may be planned. Later, the ISI also increased the strength of its cyber units. These units run honey trap schemes, cyber frauds, and online propaganda. Officials warn that the disinformation campaign may grow stronger.

Intelligence inputs say that Jaish e Mohammed modules are being reactivated in states like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Agencies have already flagged a possible Jaish e Mohammed plot in Nagpur. Therefore, the police were told to stay on high alert. They also warned that in both states the group may target religious places. This has led to tight security around sensitive sites.

Officials say the ISI wants to create not only fear but also communal violence. They add that such violence can spread fast and can damage national stability. They also say that Pakistan army chief Asim Munir issues provocative statements to boost morale. However, they say he knows a war with India is not possible. Instead, the ISI and army want to engineer terror incidents.
