Uproar In Assembly Due To Kaushik Reddy’s Comments
Hyderabad, Dec 29 (Maxim News): The winter session of the Telangana Assembly began on Monday. The remarks made by BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy caused a huge uproar in the Assembly. MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy criticized that the Tanugula check dam was blown up with bombs, similar to the Medigadda project. This criticism caused a ruckus in the Assembly.
Congress members objected to Kaushik Reddy’s remarks. Congress members counter-attacked Kaushik Reddy, asking why he was making allegations of blowing up with bombs. Congress member Nagaraju asked the Speaker to remove those words from the records. BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy made these remarks during the Question Hour in the Assembly.
The Telangana Assembly elections were held at the end of 2023. A few months before this, several pillars of the Medigadda Reservoir, which is part of the Kaleshwaram project, which was built at a cost of lakhs of crores of public money, collapsed. This issue created a sensation across the state. The then BRS government was blamed for the shortcomings in the construction of the project, which was built at a cost of lakhs of crores. The opposition Congress party criticized the then BRS government.
Moreover, the Congress party had promised in the election campaign that if they came to power, they would conduct a legal investigation into this. In that election, the Telangana voter gave the Congress party the title.
The Congress government under the leadership of Revanth Reddy came to power. A commission was formed under the leadership of retired Supreme Court judge Justice PC Ghosh on this matter. This commission, which investigated for almost two years, submitted its report to the government. However, the BRS party alleged that the collapse of the Medigadda pillars was due to the bombing. The Congress party denied these allegations. (Maxim News)
