KTR reacted to the killing of Angel Chakma, an MBA student from Tripura, in Dehradun. He said the incident exposed how prejudice, abuse of power, and impunity can come together with devastating results. Therefore, he stressed that such crimes are not isolated incidents. Instead, they serve as serious warnings when hatred becomes normal and discrimination is ignored.

He said racism strikes at the core of India’s constitutional values. He added that a country built on unity in diversity cannot survive selective hatred. KTR stated, “India cannot afford this poison.” He also said justice must be non negotiable and racism must face firm action at every level.

KTR demands strict anti racism laws and accountability

Meanwhile, KTR said the Government of India carries a moral and constitutional duty to act decisively. He called for clear and strict laws to criminalise racist speech, behaviour, and incitement. He also demanded provisions for swift arrest, prosecution, and punishment. According to him, the rule of law must remain uncompromising, and accountability cannot be selective.

He further said protecting citizens from racial hatred is not just a law and order issue. Instead, it is a test of the Republic’s commitment to equality and human rights. He warned that discrimination weakens institutions and puts lives at risk when allowed to grow.

KTR urged the Union Government to move beyond statements and ensure strong legal safeguards. He also called for robust enforcement and institutional accountability to prevent such incidents. He concluded by saying zero tolerance must become the standard, not an exception.
