IAS Officers Assume Charge As Additional Commissioners At GHMC
Hyderabad: Two IAS officers, G. Srijana and Vinay Krishna Reddy, assumed charge as Additional Commissioners at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Head Office on Wednesday. The appointments are aimed at strengthening civic administration and improving coordination across multiple zones of the city.
After assuming charge, specific responsibilities were assigned to both officers to ensure smooth monitoring of civic operations. Vinay Krishna Reddy, as Additional Commissioner, will oversee municipal activities in the Malkajgiri, L.B. Nagar, and Uppal zones. These zones include rapidly growing residential and commercial areas that require close supervision of civic services.
Meanwhile, G. Srijana has been entrusted with the responsibility of supervising civic administration in the Kukatpally, Quthbullapur, and Serilingampally zones. These areas are among the most densely populated and economically active parts of Hyderabad, where effective municipal governance plays a crucial role in maintaining infrastructure and public services.
IAS Officers Met GHMC Commissioner
Before formally taking charge, both IAS officers met GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan at the GHMC Head Office. During the meeting, administrative priorities and ongoing civic issues were discussed, setting the tone for coordinated functioning within the municipal body.
The assumption of charge by the two officers comes at a time when GHMC is focusing on improving civic services, monitoring development works, and ensuring better delivery of municipal functions across zones. With clearly defined responsibilities, the Additional Commissioners are expected to play a key role in streamlining operations and addressing local issues more efficiently.
GHMC officials said the new appointments would help strengthen field level supervision and enhance coordination between zonal offices and the central administration. The move is also expected to support faster decision making and effective implementation of civic projects across Hyderabad. (Maxim News)
