A Society Without Old Age Homes Should Emerge: Sajjanar
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (Maxim News): Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar spent the New Year’s celebrations in a humble manner on Thursday, with the intention of celebrating it with a spirit of service and away from pomp. On the occasion of the New Year, he along with other senior police officers visited the old age home and health care center run by the RK Foundation in Karkhana.
They, along with the police officers, distributed fruits and sweets to the 48 elderly people sheltering there. They inquired about their well-being and spent some time with them. They cut a cake and wished everyone a happy New Year.
Senior actress Pavala Shyamala, who was suffering from illness a month ago, was admitted to the RK Foundation Healthcare Center at the initiative of Tirumalgiri ACP Ramesh. CP Sajjanar, who came to know about this matter, specially congratulated the ACP for his humanitarian response on this occasion. The CP cordially greeted Pavala Shyamala, who is undergoing treatment at the ashram, and inquired about her health condition.
Speaking on the occasion, CP congratulated Dr. Ramakrishna, the founder of the foundation, who has embraced the elderly and provided free medical services to about 15,000 people for the last 18 years.
He clarified that it is the responsibility of children to protect their elders. He said that it is not right to confine parents to old age homes under the pretext of modern lifestyle and the pressures of work and business.
He reminded us not to ignore the sacrifices of those who raised us and made us adults, and that what they need in old age is not possessions, but only the affection of children. He hoped for a society without old age homes. He called for parents to be worshipped as a responsibility and a god, not as a burden.
North Zone DCP Rashmi Perumal, Additional DCP Ashok, Tirumalagiri ACP Ramesh, Factory Inspector Anuradha and others participated in this program. (Maxim News)
