Ashok Nagar Bridge Inaugurated, Promises Faster and Signal-Free Connectivity
Ashok Nagar Bridge | Hyderabad, Jan 2 (Maxim News): A newly constructed bridge across the Hussain Sagar surplus nala near Ashok Nagar was inaugurated on Friday, marking a significant boost to urban connectivity in the city.
The bridge was formally opened by Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, along with MP Anil Kumar Yadav, Mayor Smt. Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, MLA Muta Gopal, Deputy Mayor Smt. Mothe Srilatha, and GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan. Corporators and senior GHMC officials were also present.
Constructed at a cost of ₹6 crore, the bridge connects City Central Library, Ashok Nagar, and AV College, Gaganmahal.

Measuring 48.2 metres in length and 12 metres in width, the new structure provides a crucial signal-free corridor for commuters.
With the inauguration of this bridge, motorists can now reach Liberty Junction and the GHMC Head Office in approximately 10 minutes, significantly reducing travel time and easing traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.
Officials said the project would greatly benefit students, local residents, and daily commuters by offering a safer, shorter, and smoother route.
The Ashok Nagar bridge is the first bridge inaugurated by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in the New Year, reflecting the civic body’s focus on improving road infrastructure and traffic flow across the city.
