Hyderabad: Around 48 tolas of gold was allegedly stolen from two flats in an apartment complex in Malkajgiri, with police suspecting a Nepali family that had been working there for several years.
A complaint was lodged with the Malkajgiri police after the residents of flats 301 and 302 discovered that a large quantity of gold was missing.
According to the complaint, the Nepali family had been working at the apartment in Anandbagh for nearly 11 years. The family had reportedly gained the trust of the apartment residents during their long stay.
The woman, whose husband had died due to illness, was reportedly working as a watchman along with her four children. The family had been living on the premises and was familiar with the residents.

Police said suspicion arose after the family suddenly vacated the apartment and left in April this year.
The residents later discovered that approximately 48 tolas of gold was missing from flats 301 and 302. They subsequently approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint, Malkajgiri police registered a case and launched an investigation. Special teams are working to trace the whereabouts of the family and determine whether the alleged stolen gold was taken with them.
Police are also investigating whether any other persons were involved in the alleged theft and are examining the circumstances surrounding the family’s sudden departure from the apartment.
