Eight People Arrested For Drug Peddling In Pet Basheerabad

Hyderabad: Police arrested eight persons for alleged drug peddling during a checking drive at Suchitra Circle in Pet Basheerabad. The arrests took place on Thursday night as part of a special operation by the Medchal Special Operations Team. The police action followed specific inputs during routine checks in the area.
According to information available, the Medchal SOT team intercepted the suspects while they were moving through Suchitra Circle. Police said the eight persons were allegedly involved in the sale and purchase of narcotics. The operation focused on preventing the movement of illegal drugs in the locality. Therefore, officers intensified checks and questioned several individuals before making the arrests.
Meanwhile, police said the suspects had come to collect drugs from a local supplier identified as Mithilesh. During the operation, officers seized about 4.5 grams of heroin and cocaine from the group. The seizure confirmed the police suspicion of drug peddling activity in the area. Also, the recovery helped the police establish the purpose of the suspects’ visit.
Later, police seized a scooter and six mobile phones from the arrested persons. The vehicles and devices were taken as part of the evidence. Then, the Medchal SOT team handed over the arrested persons, along with the seized material, to Pet Basheerabad police. The local police will continue the investigation and take further action as per law.
The police stated that such checking drives will continue to curb drug-related offences. The case remains under investigation. (Maxim News)
