Hyderabad SBI ATM Shooting | Hyderabad, Jan. 31: The Hyderabad SBI ATM shooting robbery in Koti left a city trader injured after armed assailants opened fire and fled with cash during early hours on Saturday, police said.

The incident occurred between 6.50 am and 7 am near the State Bank of India ATM in Koti. The victim, identified as Rashad, had arrived to deposit cash when the attackers struck.

According to police, the assailants carried out a recce before executing the attack. They allegedly tracked Rinshad’s movements and waited for him to begin the deposit process.

Speaking on the incident, Khairatabad Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Shilpavalli said the victim is a cloth merchant from Nampally. He had brought Rs 6 lakh to deposit at the SBI ATM.

The attackers fired at Rashad, causing him to collapse at the spot. They then fled with the cash and escaped on Rashad’s motorcycle, police said.

Rashad was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. Doctors confirmed that his injuries are not life threatening and his condition is stable.

Police have registered a case and launched an intensive investigation into the robbery. Five special teams have been formed to trace the accused.

Officers are scanning CCTV footage from the SBI premises and surrounding areas. Additionally, exit routes are being mapped to identify the escape path used by the assailants.

Senior police officials said the attack appears to be planned. However, further details will emerge after forensic and technical analysis.

The incident has triggered concern over security during early morning cash transactions. Police said additional vigilance will be enforced near banks and ATMs across central Hyderabad.
