India Announces Tax Holiday For Data Centres Till 2047

Hyderabad, Feb. 1 (Maxim News) : The Union government has announced a major incentive for companies setting up data centres in India. In a key policy move, it has offered a tax holiday for data centres established until the year 2047.

As a result, cloud service providers and digital infrastructure firms are expected to gain significantly. Moreover, the decision aims to accelerate India’s digital economy and strengthen long term technology investments.

Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2026–27 in Parliament on Sunday.

Through this budget, the government reaffirmed its focus on sustainable growth and faster economic reforms.

At the same time, the budget outlined steps to protect India from global trade pressures and rising tariffs. According to the Finance Minister, these measures will help India remain competitive in the international market.

Notably, this marks the ninth consecutive budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman, setting a historic record. Additionally, this is the first instance since Independence that a Union Budget was presented on a Sunday. (Maxim News)
