Man Ends Life After Cyber Blackmail Over Morphed Images In Ramnagar

Hyderabad: A cyber blackmail suicide case in Ramnagar shocked the city after a 36 year old man allegedly ended his life following threats linked to morphed images. The incident occurred on Monday and raised serious concern about online extortion and mental health stress caused by cybercrime.

The victim was identified as Prem Kumar. He reportedly faced intense mental pressure after unknown persons targeted him through cyber blackmail. According to information available, the accused sent morphed nude photographs to him. They then demanded Rs 3,000. They also warned that if he failed to pay immediately, they would circulate similar morphed nude images and videos of his family members. As a result, the threats deeply disturbed him.

Meanwhile, family members said Prem Kumar struggled to handle the repeated threats. He slipped into depression due to fear and anxiety. They tried to reassure him and asked him not to pay any money. They explained that paying once would only lead to more demands. They also advised him to approach the police and file a complaint against the cyber fraudsters.

However, despite their efforts, Prem Kumar allegedly could not cope with the psychological pressure. Later, he reportedly died by suicide at his residence. The incident left the family in shock and grief. It also highlighted the emotional toll such cyber threats can cause.

Following the incident, the family lodged a complaint with the police. Based on this complaint, the Chikkadpally police registered a case. They then took up an investigation to trace the cyber criminals involved. Officials are now examining digital clues to identify the source of the threats.

Meanwhile, police officials issued a caution to the public. They advised victims of cyber blackmail to report such incidents without delay. Victims can approach the nearest police station or contact the Cybercrime Helpline at 1930. Officials warned that paying money to blackmailers often leads to further harassment and stress. Therefore, they stressed that prompt reporting is the safest course of action.

This cyber blackmail suicide case in Ramnagar once again underlined the dangers of online crime. It also showed the need for quick support, awareness, and reporting mechanisms to protect vulnerable individuals from such threats.
