Both Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Indian National Congress tried hard to capture the municipality. As a result, tension had been building since Saturday.

On Tuesday, police stopped BRS MLA Kova Lakshmi and former MLA Balka Suman when they arrived at the municipal office. Soon after, workers from both parties began pushing each other. Therefore, police used mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd.

However, the situation worsened. Kyathanpally Municipal Election allegedly pelted stones at the convoy of Minister Vivek Venkataswamy and at police personnel. In the incident, the windshields of the minister’s vehicle and Peddapalli MP Vamshi Krishna’s car were damaged.
