Kadiyam Srihari Appears Before Speaker In Disqualification Petition Hearing
Hyderabad, Feb. 28 (Maxim News): The hearing on MLA disqualification petitions has created political tension in Telangana. On Saturday, Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari appeared before Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.
BRS MLA K. P. Vivekananda filed a disqualification petition against Srihari. He alleged that Srihari engaged in anti-party activities. Therefore, he urged the Speaker to cancel Srihari’s MLA membership.
During the previous hearing, Srihari’s lawyers cross-examined the advocates representing the BRS MLA. However, today the situation reversed. Lawyers representing the BRS MLA are now cross-examining Srihari’s legal team.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has received complaints against a total of 10 MLAs in defection-related cases.
He has already delivered judgments in eight of those petitions. However, petitions against Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari are still pending.
Notably, Danam Nagender did not attend yesterday’s hearing. As a result, the Speaker adjourned his case to March 2.
If today’s hearing concludes, the Speaker may complete the remaining proceedings soon. Political circles expect the final judgment in both pending cases in the first week of March.
The outcome of these petitions could have a significant impact on Telangana politics. (Maxim News)
