- Meeting with Prime Minister Modi draws attention to Varun Gandhi
- Speculation grows on BJP return after viral family photo
Hyderabad, March 17: Former BJP MP Varun Gandhi met Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. He visited the Prime Minister along with his family. The meeting has triggered fresh political speculation.
According to reports, Varun Gandhi secured an appointment with the Prime Minister. He later shared a photo on his social media account. In the image, his wife Yamini Roy Chowdhury and daughter Anasuya appeared in a cheerful mood. Meanwhile, the photo quickly went viral online.
Varun Gandhi Meets Modi and Political Speculation
However, the meeting has led to renewed discussion about Varun Gandhi’s political future. There are claims that he may become active in the BJP again. Notably, the party sidelined him during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In that election, former Congress leader Jitin Prasad contested from Pilibhit on a BJP ticket.
It is also known that Varun Gandhi earlier represented the Pilibhit constituency. The seat has a strong connection with his family, as it is linked to his mother Maneka Gandhi. However, his recent political stance has often differed from the party line.
Earlier, Varun Gandhi criticized the BJP over the farmer violence incident in Lakhimpur in 2021. He also raised concerns about unemployment and questioned several central government policies, including the Ujjwala scheme. Furthermore, he stated that slogans alone would not solve people’s problems.
Background and Past Political Signals
In the past, there were also rumours that Varun Gandhi might join the Congress party. At one point, he met Rahul Gandhi in Kedarnath, which added to speculation. However, he later refused to join the Congress.
Therefore, his latest meeting with Prime Minister Modi has again drawn public and political attention. While no official statement has been made, the development continues to fuel debate about his next political move.
