Telangana Budget 2026-27 Announces Student Scholarships And Welfare

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): The Telangana government announced major welfare measures for students, youth, and persons with disabilities in the Telangana Budget 2026 27.

Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka made the announcements while presenting the budget in the Assembly.

The minister said education and social security remain key priorities. He said the government aims to provide quality education to poor and backward section students. Support systems will also improve access to opportunities.

According to the minister, the government plans targeted schemes for technical education students. These measures aim to reduce financial pressure. They also encourage skill based education.

Students studying in Industrial Training Institutes will receive financial support. Each ITI and ATC student will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 2,000. This step aims to support technical education.

Officials expect thousands of students to benefit from this scheme. Financial support may help them complete courses. It may also improve job readiness after training.

The government also announced support for students with disabilities. Authorities will distribute retrofitted motorized vehicles free of cost. These vehicles will help improve mobility.

This step aims to remove transport barriers. Students facing mobility issues may attend classes more regularly. Better access may also improve academic performance.

Another key decision involves nutrition support. The government extended the Mid Day Meal Scheme to government junior college students. Earlier, only school students received this benefit.

The minister said this move will help prevent nutrition gaps. Proper nutrition may help students focus better on studies. Officials said the scheme may also help reduce dropouts.
