Under the Telangana Rising Vision 2047 initiative, the government proposed Greenfield radial roads. These roads are expected to act as new growth drivers for the state’s economy.

The project aims to connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the upcoming 360 km Regional Ring Road (RRR).

These radial roads will not only meet future transport needs but also support industrial growth. Moreover, the project is expected to improve connectivity across key regions.

Telangana Radial Roads to connect ORR and RRR corridors

Unlike regular roads, these Greenfield roads will avoid congested city areas. Therefore, they will allow faster travel.

Also, they will connect core urban, peri urban, and rural growth areas. The government is developing them under a hub and spoke model.

Hyderabad will act as the hub, while the 10 roads will function as spokes extending in different directions.

Radial Road Number 1 is being built as a six lane expressway with a length of 41.5 km. It will connect Raviryal junction on the ORR with the RRR at Amangal. This road will pass through Bharat Future City. At present, construction work on this road is underway.

Meanwhile, Radial Road Number 2 will stretch for 81 km. It will start from the ORR at Budwel and connect to NH 167N at Nacharam in Kodangal constituency through the RRR.

This connectivity is expected to reduce transport costs for industries. Also, it will make travel easier to the Lagacharla Education Hub.

Greenfield radial roads to boost industry and transport

Construction work on the first two radial roads has already started. In addition, the government plans to develop 10 modern net zero townships along these roads.

These townships aim to reduce environmental pollution. They will also create residential areas close to industries. Therefore, the plan is expected to promote a walk to work culture.
