Delhi/Hyderabad, April 13 (Maxim News): Hungary’s opposition leader Peter Magyar has scored a stunning victory. The Magyar-led Tiza party has achieved an unexpected victory in the parliamentary elections. Viktor Orban, who has been ruling the country for 16 years, has had to face a shocking defeat. Orban, who called Magyar, wished him victory. With 98 percent of the votes counted by Sunday night, the Tiza party won 53.72 percent of the votes. The Fidesz party won 37.67 percent of the votes.
The Magyar campaigned on the promise of ending corruption. He said he would increase funding for government institutions. He said he would strengthen ties with the European Union. For the first time in Hungary’s election history, the highest voter turnout was recorded. About 77.8 percent of the people voted. After the victory, Peter addressed supporters on the Danube River. “We have achieved this. Together, we have overthrown the Hungarian government.”
According to the latest estimates, the Tiza party will get 138 seats. Orban’s party will get only 55 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Hungary’s newly elected Prime Minister Peter Magyar and the Tiza party. He said that there is a historic bond with Hungary.
