Hyderabad, April 20: A major fire accident was reported at an apartment building in TNGO Colony, Gachibowli, on Monday, creating panic among residents. Emergency teams rushed to the spot and launched swift rescue operations. No fatalities were reported in the incident. However, two individuals fell ill due to suffocation caused by the thick smoke that engulfed the apartment premises.
According to initial reports, police suspect that the fire started in the building’s cellar, possibly due to an electrical short circuit. The flames quickly intensified, while dense smoke spread through stairwells and corridors, making it difficult for residents to breathe and forcing several families to evacuate their homes in fear.

Fire department personnel, along with local police, reached the scene promptly and began rescue operations. Several residents trapped on the upper floors were safely evacuated by emergency teams. Authorities ensured that all occupants of the building were accounted for and moved to safety.
The fire also caused significant property damage. More than 15 two-wheelers parked in the cellar were completely gutted as the flames spread rapidly through the parking area. The heat and smoke further added to the chaos, alarming residents and bystanders.
After strenuous efforts, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. Officials have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and identify any possible safety lapses.
