Telangana Heatwave Turns Severe as Temperatures Cross 46°C

Hyderabad, April 28: Telangana is facing severe summer heatwave even before the Rohini Karthe period begins. Temperatures touched 46°C, causing concern across the state. People are feeling the impact from as early as 8 am.

Officials said four people died on Monday in heatstroke and lightning incidents. The rising heat has disrupted normal life in many districts.

Nizamabad recorded the highest temperature at 46°C. Adilabad, Nirmal and Peddapalli districts reported 45.9°C. Several other districts also crossed 45°C.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad also saw harsh weather conditions. Some parts of the city recorded 42.5°C.

Telangana Heatwave Claims Four Lives

Three people died due to heatstroke in separate districts. Bhogarapu Marayya, 56, died in Mancherial district after exposure to extreme heat.

In Peddapalli district, Dasaratham Soumya, 19, also lost life due to heatstroke. Another elderly man died in Narayanpet district.

Doctors advised people to stay indoors during afternoon hours. They also asked residents to drink enough water and avoid long exposure to sunlight.

Later in the evening, weather changed in some areas. In Sangareddy district, farmer Kurma Rangu Jangaiah, 51, died after lightning struck while he worked in a field.

The incident left the family in deep shock.

More Heatwave Days Ahead

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre warned that heatwave conditions may continue for the next three days. Temperatures could rise by another 1 to 2°C in several places.

However, North Telangana may get light rain at one or two locations. Still, the showers may not bring major relief.

Authorities urged people to avoid outdoor work between noon and 4 pm. They also asked elderly people and children to take extra care.

The current weather shows that summer conditions are turning harsher across Telangana.
