Hyderabad, April 28 (Maxim News): Google has introduced a new feature that allows users to store Aadhaar details in Google Wallet. The company rolled out this facility in partnership with the Unique Identification Authority of India.
With this update, users can access Aadhaar details digitally without carrying a physical card. They can present the stored information for verification whenever required.
The feature supports both online and offline use. As a result, users can rely on a secure digital identity for daily needs.
Google Wallet Aadhaar Feature Enhances Privacy
Google said the feature includes advanced privacy controls. Notably, it offers selective disclosure, which lets users share only required details.
This approach helps users protect sensitive information. Moreover, it ensures better control over personal identity data.
According to the company, storing Aadhaar in devices provides a safe and digital first identity solution.
To use the feature, users need to open the Google Wallet app. Then, they must select the add to wallet option from the menu.
After that, they should choose Aadhaar and enter the OTP received on their mobile number. The system then links Aadhaar details through the UIDAI app using a share ID.
Consequently, the Aadhaar information gets stored securely in the wallet.
This move aligns with the growing push for digital services in India. It also supports the shift toward paperless and secure identity verification systems. (Maxim News)
